Air has weight! The air above us pushes down in every direction. A barometer measures this pressure. When pressure falls, it can sometimes mean unsettled, windy or rainy weather is approaching. Rising pressure often goes with calmer, drier conditions — but pressure alone cannot guarantee a forecast.
